Career Planning
The Career Planning and Job Placement service of the Advising, Career,
and Counseling Center, is designed to assist students throughout various
points in their college careers as they plan for their programs of
study for the first time, change their college majors, and set their
future career goals. The beginning of this planning process starts
with Career Counseling.
Career Counseling
Career Counseling is provided through personalized, one-one-one sessions
with a career counselor. Counseling allows students the opportunity
to review their personal, educational, and career-related thoughts
in a confidential and supportive environment. The career counselor
helps students assess their career interests, and identify suitable
options that match their current and future career goals. Various career
and personality inventories and resources are available to supplement
the career counseling process. Career counseling is supported through
the practices of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Career and Personality Inventories
Career and personality inventories may be offered in conjunction with
career counseling to optimize choices that will suit student’s
interests and personalities.

Career Programming and Resources
Students can also engage in job shadowing, or informational interviewing,
to either confirm a career direction, or identify a new one. Various
career and employment related materials are available in the Center’s
Resource Room. Informational booklets are available for quick reference
in the following areas:
