Program Description
This online medical administrative assistant training program will prepare aspiring medical administrative assistants in how to assist the healthcare teams with patient flow and day-to-day administrative operations. Through the online training, you will learn skills to prepare you for working alongside medical providers performing a broad range of administrative duties, including welcoming patients and visitors, scheduling appointments, maintaining the reception area, gathering demographic information, verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining prior authorizations, collecting copayments, and communicating via the phone and patient portal.

MyCAA funding may be available for eligible individuals pursuing or maintaining a license, certification, or associate degree—including continuing education courses. The credential must align with the military spouse’s career goals and be obtained from a participating institution.

- MyCAA provides up to $2,000 toward tuition and approved certification.
- It does not cover books, supplies, equipment, uniforms, computers, or electronic devices.
- Students are responsible for all ineligible expenses.
