Advancing Success in Associate Pathways (ASAP)

ASAP provides students with the support they need to finish their degree on time at the two-year level. The supports include cost of attendence award, textbook assistance, financial monthly incentives, personalized advisement and academic services, and career development activities.

ASAP at SUNY Jefferson assists students in earning their associate degree as quickly as possible with the goal of graduating in 3 years or less. Students receive dedicated academic, financial and personal support from a dedicated ASAP advisor. In addition students will benefit from career counseling, a monthly incentive of either a gas card or a grocery card, textbook assistance and a Cost of Attendance Award (after financial aid has been applied) if needed.

Jefferson’s ASAP program can help eliminate childcare costs while you earn your degree, and funding may be used to cover licensed after-school care.

Eligibility

  • Be eligible for In-State Tuition
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application.
    • Note: Students concerned about completing the FAFSA due to family circumstances can reach out to ASAP|ACE program staff to learn about options to apply directly for New York State financial aid.
  • Receive at least $1 of federal Pell or NYS grant aid (TAP or Excelsior).
  • Approved ASAP Major *Listed Below
  • Ability to graduate in 3 years or less
  • Full-time student (12 credit hours)
  • Have not yet completed more than 21 college credit hours (College in High School and AP credits excluded)
  • If a transfer or current student must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and in good academic standing at the previous institution.

  • Cost of Attendance award ($400 for ASAP)
  • Textbook assistance ($150/semester)
  • Monthly Stipend (up to $200/semester).
    • Students have a choice of an Stewarts Gas Card or Aldi Grocery Card
  • Dedicated Academic Coaching, Tutoring, Advising and Career Support
  • Child Care Funding

Approved Majors

  • Most degree programs at SUNY Jefferson are eligible for the ASAP program. However, students enrolled in the Nursing A.A.S. program or those in Pre-Nursing may require additional review to determine eligibility.
