Wearing White in Rain

Jonnell R. Liebl

trees stand askance
of sun’s heat which pools
up everywhere tall as silos
kept still for scrap

over haystacks left like sheep
with their limbs ripped off
just fluff drying

as the amish boy sails
down the road in his red
wagon  a sun shower pinks

my bra suddenly from the white
of my t-shirt I wonder if

he’s seen a girl like this before drenched
by summer stripped in her own clothes
