JCC & SUNY Potsdam, Early Childhood/Childhood Education Info. Session April 28
Published: April 06, 2022
Jefferson Community College (JCC) and SUNY Potsdam will co-host an early childhood/childhood education information session at JCC on April 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Jules Center amphitheater, Room 6-002. Anyone interested in a future career working with young children during early development or in the education field are welcome. Dinner is included!
JCC offers an associate degree program in early childhood to prepare students to enter the workforce after graduation or transfer to a 4-year institution to continue their education. Graduates of JCC’s early childhood program who choose to enter the workforce are prepared for careers as pre-school teachers and employment at daycare centers, family daycares and early intervention programs. Graduates who choose to continue their education may transfer to a number of colleges to pursue their bachelor’s degree.
JCC offers a jointly registered childhood education program with SUNY Potsdam through the Jefferson Higher Education Center. Students earn their associate degree in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) from JCC and after graduating, they continue to take classes uninterrupted on JCC’s campus, and online, from SUNY Potsdam. Students graduate with their bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education (birth to grade 6) from SUNY Potsdam. Students submit one college application, receive joint advisement from both colleges to ensure success and save on travel expenses. Upon successful completion, graduates are prepared to teach children from early childhood through sixth grade.
Prospective students interested in any of JCC’s early childhood/childhood education programs and/or jointly registered program with SUNY Potsdam are encouraged to attend the information session on April 28, 2022.
Registration is required to attend the information session held at JCC.
