JCC alumnus Dylan Wilson Kernehan '18 is a two-time published author and recently appeared for a book signing event at The Little Bookstore in Watertown. His book titled Seasons of the St. Lawrence, published in 2021, is an anthology of his favorite sonnets reflecting life on the St. Lawrence River in Northern New York.

Jefferson Community College (JCC) is seeking community support for its mascot, Boomer T. Cannoneer, in the State University of New York (SUNY) "Mascot Madness" competition which will determine New York State's favorite SUNY mascot. Voting begins March 22, 2022. Contest wraps up in mid-April.
